As you'll have no doubt already heard - this month's big product news is the launch of Beacon's ticketing functionality. You can now use Beacon to sell tickets to your events and have all of that data flow automatically into your Beacon database.
Read more about ticketing in our launch blog post.
Along with ticketing we've made some improvements to forms which can be used for forms of all types.
You can now add any fields from a Person record to the personal details section of a form. You can also make each field optional. This replaces the old list of check boxes for required personal details.
This means that you now have lots more flexibility when it comes to the fields that you request from people filling in forms.
You can now add dates like 'Today' and 'One week from today' in form fixed data. Handy for setting tasks or logging the date when an application was submitted.
You can now scroll through long lists on your Dashboard. Handy when you have a long list of tasks to do!
We now run more checks to try to identify potential problems with your Gift Aid claims. We're stricter on dates, important fields like the payment amount must be present, and we validate your Gift Aid account details more thoroughly.
This is part of our work to keep upgrading the reliability of Gift Aid claims so you can submit them quickly and easily every month.
Our intrepid band of Founder Members have been getting things off to a good start on Beacon's new private Facebook Group. It's a place to exchange ideas, tips, and best practices and all Beacon customers are now invited to join!
You can find the group here and we'd love to welcome you in.
The group is only available to Beacon customers.
Coming up, we're going to be making some more improvements to forms, and we'll be starting work on improving how Beacon handles families and relationships. We'll also be starting work on the Beacon portal - which will allow your contacts to update their own details without logging in to Beacon.
