This month's biggest release is our new import and export system.
Import templates make it really simple to manage your CSV imports into Beacon. You can create a reusable template that maps columns in your CSV file to fields in your Beacon database. This is especially useful if you want to customise your import to get your data exactly how you want it in you Beacon.
With export templates you can configure CSV exports for the people in your organisation who want to crunch the numbers. You can also create shiny PDF reports for those who prefer a slick looking overview.
You can read more about import and export templates here.
We've completely overhauled our filtering mechanism and upgraded the interface to make filtering easier.
You can now filter by convenient date ranges like 'this month' and 'last quarter'. You can filter by related records, in the example below we are filtering by people who have donated over £500. You can also filter by fields that have 'one of' a set of values, here we're filtering by anyone who is a donor, fundraiser, or volunteer.
Last month we were really excited to announce Beacon's first foray into the hardware market with "Beacon Bucket".
Despite a couple of people who we got hook, line, sinker, and copy of the Angling Times, it seems that most of you guys were wise to our April Fools stunt!
Special mention to the fun reactions on the Fundraising Chat Facebook group.
Our sector can sometimes be a little stuffy and dour. Thanks for joining in the fun!
You can read the original Beacon Bucket post here if you missed it.
Stay tuned for the release of smart merging of records, Braintree payment support, more import features, and more snappy UX improvements coming very soon!
See you next month, Beacon pals!
