We've introduced a new billing and team management system to give you more control over your Beacon subscription and to make how you pay for Beacon much simpler, clearer, and more predictable.
Lets take a quick look at the key changes:
Licences are the new way that you pay for Beacon. Each of your team members will need their own Beacon licence.
Licences give you more control over your Beacon subscription: You can assign team members to licences and easily switch them between different licences if you need to. We've already created licences for all existing team members, but when you invite anyone new you'll need to purchase a licence for them first.
You can find out more about managing your licences here.
All accounts on all plans can now invite read-only users to their accounts. And the best part is that read-only users are completely free.
Read-only users can log in to Beacon and view all of the data but can't make any updates or do things like run imports or exports. This is a useful way of getting Beacon into the hands of more people in your organisation without paying for a licence!
You can find out more about read-only users here.
We've made some updates to Beacon invoices to make them much more straightforward. When adding new team members you'll be billed immediately to bring your account up to date for the current billing period. Beacon calculates what you're about to be charged so you can see exactly what to expect when you change your licences.
We'll now collect payment fees directly from the payment providers (Stripe, GoCardless, and PayPal) rather than adding them to your invoice. You will now see your Beacon fees right alongside your payment processor's fees in one convenient place. Of course, you'll still be able to see these fees on your payment records in Beacon, too.
You can find out more about how we collect fees here.
These changes mean that we have put an end to confusing quarterly interim invoices for customers who pay annually, you'll be billed right away when you change something and payment fees will be collected by your payment provider.
We've released a fancypants new Billing page that's loaded with handy features.
We've given you more fine-grained control over your spending. From your Billing page you can now:
