7 things we're working on in 2023

The past 12 months have been an exciting time for the Beacon product team. We released lots of exciting features, made grand improvements to our infrastructure, and welcomed some great new team members.
More importantly, we've had the opportunity to work with, and learn from, some remarkable organisations doing remarkable work in challenging times. It's a privilege to get to work with so many great customers and to shape Beacon with their suggestions.
Two of our guiding values are that we are constantly innovating and we strive to do what we do better than anyone else in the world. In 2023 we'll be putting those values into practice as we work even harder to improve the Beacon product.
Here's a taste of what we're going to be working on over the next year:
Dashboards are handy but they've been long overdue an upgrade. You'll be able to share dashboards with your team, and drag dashboard cards to reorder them.
A big area for improvement in 2023 is around analytics and reporting in Beacon. We want to make feature improvements across the product to make the analysis and reporting on your data simpler and more powerful. You can expect to start to see these updates going live in May and June.
Another ongoing strategic priority for our product team is our workflows feature. Automating away all of your clunky manual work is a crucial way for Beacon to drive value to your organisation, and we're planning to spend a sizable chunk of engineering time in the second half of the year improving workflows - adding functionality and making the feature more powerful.
We love integrations. We'll be launching our Enthuse integration in January and we've got some big plans for the year.
We'll be improving our Zapier integration to add some more functionality and make Zapier's 5000+ integrations even more useful.
This year we're planning to build integrations with ecommerce platforms (like Shopify and WooCommerce), as well as building Sage and Quickbooks integrations to the same standard as our Xero integration.
You heard correctly, OR filters will be coming soon to Beacon filters near you! We've put it off for long enough, it's time to introduce OR filters and more powerful, nested filtering.
We'll be launching our new look and logo in January, so we'll be giving the product a lick of paint to align styling with the website and wider brand. You won't be able to miss it.
Philosophically we'll be placing a greater emphasis on small, iterative improvements to Beacon this year - rather than larger flashy projects. We're going to be aiming to make Beacon faster, to tidy up and simplify the interface, and to improve how accessible the whole system is.
